Tarzan (Johnny Weissmuller) gets caught by a hunter who wants to put him on display in England in this 1936 feature, reputed to be one of the series’s best (despite some postproduction tinkering and reshooting after a preview audience reacted unfavorably to some of the violence). Richard Thorpe, who wound up directing many of the subsequent Tarzan pictures, is credited as director, though Jim McKay and John Farrow were both involved at earlier stages.
